SOME OF THE CUSTOMER REVIEWS ABOUT THIS HEALTH CARE PRODUCT  [ SAMPLE ]

1) Wipe your butt with the best. - Soft. Wet. Plentiful. These are the virtues of bottom-cleansing wipes fit for a king. These refills ensconce nicely into their made-by-Cottonelle plastic dispenser that sits atop my bathroom windowsill, bathing in the light of the eastern sun. Buy them and feel like a king—for the price of a pauper.

2) Helps Keep My Family Clean, Safe For Plumbing! - So if you're buying this, you're either curious about the product or you like to feel clean down there after you use the bathroom. I'm the latter because after all, who wants a stinky behind? After all, we use a similar product on babies, so it's only natural that if you want to get clean without having to take a bath/shower, you would use a product like this (or simply use a bidet).

But the main point of writing this review is to address something other reviewers have mentioned. There has been controversies about flushing these down the toilet. Many users claim that they (or their plumber) or some other authority says these clog up your pipes and cause problems due to the fact that they don't break down. While that's true, this doesn't apply to every brand.

While I'm semi-concerned about this, I was pleased to find that there is proof that this is safe for flushing. A popular magazine proves that these are the most flushable wipes available and will not clog your pipes! In this February 2014 issue on page 11 (of magazine with initials C.R.), there is an article about wet wipes and their performance. When choosing a wet wipe, you want one to be strong enough to do the job, but you also need it to be weak enough to fall apart (like toilet paper) when flushed to prevent clogging. They tested four different brands of wipes, including Cottonelle, Charmin, Scott Naturals, and Walmart's Equate.

The first test they performed was the strength test to simulate wiping with them. They pushed metal balls through layers of wipes and all four brands passed without tearing. A comfort knowing your hand won't get messy when using these wipes.

The second test they performed was the plumbing test, which they simulated these wipes going through your plumbing after flushed. Their test consisted mixing these wipes in a a stand mixer filled with water at the lowest setting. They admitted that this was more churning than your typical pipe provides when flushing, but all four wipes took at least 10 minutes to break into small pieces, which is considered a failure for all four brands.

So now you may be saying "I knew it, these are bad for our plumbing". But not so fast... Their 3rd test was the disintegration test. What they did was let the wipes sit in water overnight (as they would in your plumbing) and only 2 of the brands disintegrated while immersed overnight. Those brands were the Cottonelle and the Scott Naturals. The other (Charmin and Equate) stayed in one whole piece despite being immersed in water overnight.

So their bottom line is that you should toss these in a trash can, BUT if you insist on flushing them, you need to go with Cottonelle or Scott, which by their tests are less likely to cause plumbing problems due to the disintegration factor.

Because of this review, I have the peace of mind that I'm using a product not only good for me, but my plumbing as well.
