1) It is battle of the mud mask time! - It is battle of the mud mask time!

Ok in all seriousness I recently bought two dead sea mud masks, Pure Body Dead Sea Mud Mask and Majestic Pure Dead Sea Mud Mask. I figured I would put them both to the test at the same time to give a comparison for people looking at different mud masks.

To start here is a little about me. I am 37,female, super fair, and have sensitive skin. Obviously we all have different skin and needs or preferences so what works for me might not work for you.

Pure Body brand:

No scent
Thinner and more moist feeling/gooey and darker in color

Directions:

Apply thin layer
Leave on 10-15 minutes then remove using circular motions.
Do not use more than 1 time a week

Majestic Pure Brand:

Pleasant Scent
Much thicker than Pure Body Brand
Lighter in color

Directions:
Apply thick layer
Leave on 5 minutes
Remove using circular lotions
Use 2 times a week
Follow with moisturizer

I removed each after their suggested times with lukewarm water in a circular motion as instructed.

Both sides felt soft and firmer. The Majestic Pure took longer to remove (probably since it was on thicker and a thicker consistency). The Majestic Pure side initially had a slight tingling to it as well as felt slightly softer.

Pores were smaller on both after one use.

I personally preferred the Pure Body Naturals slightly over the Majestic Pure because even though the scent of the Majestic Pure is nice I preferred the scent free/natural earthy smell of the Pure Body. I purchased both of these products at a discounted rate in exchange for trying them and giving my honest review feedback.

2) Dead Sea Mud vs Bentonite Clay - I bought this clay after a friend shared some with me. We had used it on our faces and hair during a trip to the Korean bath house, and I was super impressed, so I bought Molivera Organics Bentonite Clay and Dead Sea Mud Mask by Pure Body Naturals to compare and see if there was any difference.

The bentonite clay is a powder that can be mixed with either apple cider vinegar or water to make a paste. It can be used on hair or face. The Dead Sea mud is already premixed. Both smell fine, but if you mix bentonite clay with vinegar, it can burn your nostrils. I mixed with apple cider vinegar for this test. Smeared each mud on half my face.

Comparison impressions:

Dead Sea Clay is faster to go on because it's ready mixed. It's smooth and creamy. It left my skin cleansed but not overdry. Some oils were left on my skin after using the clay. This jar is smaller than the Bentonite mask.

Bentonite clay mixed with vinegar -- the smell was nearly overpowering! I don't think I will do that again, as you can see in the picture that my face actually swelled under that mixture. Those people seeing firmness after using the clay may not be seeing actual firming, but swelling instead. This clay stripped my skin of all oils. ALL.

Both sides of my face felt smooth after the test, but you can see that the Bentonite side was swollen. Both masks are good options, with Bentonite being the cheaper version, and Dead Sea Mud more convenient. I won't be doing the apple cider vinegar mixture again due to the swelling, so now you know not to as well.
