1) Interesting for the beginner, something to aspire to  - I am just starting my yoga practice, and as I looked for more details of poses and such online after class, I kept ending up on the YogaJournal.com website. Last time grocery shopping I picked up a copy, couldn't put it down, and ordered a subscription. As a beginner I have found it VERY interesting with articles on how yoga is helping patients mentally and physically with breast cancer, common sense articles on herbs for ailments AND yoga poses to ease an ailment also, many others--I read it literally cover to cover. I found it really helpful to go from class (a bunch of ladies bonding over our struggles to balance or stay in a pose) to how the rest of the (yoga) world perceives/practices/enriches through yoga! I found it perfectly readable for a complete beginner to augment class instruction (oooh the possibilities!!!) to wanting to set it aside and review as I get further along in the future. And their website is a wealth of information as well.

2) Nice Mix of Mind and Body - I'm really quite fond of this magazine. It does a very good job of mixing in a variety of aspects of a yoga life, and addressing each aspect in a helpful and entertaining manner.

There are of course pages on poses, with clear photos, succinct instructions and explanations on how to modify them if you have to. There are pages on eating healthy. There are stories from people in a variety of walks of life, talking about how even minor changes in their lifestyle brought about significant results.

Then there are the pages which can make a huge difference in another way. A recent article had an article on forgiveness - how it is so important not to carry grudges and hatred. Those feelings rarely harm to "person who did you wrong" - but they eat up your own body, filling you with stress, tension, and unhappiness. It's amazing how many people I run into who carry these kinds of whole-heart grudges, often from incidents 10 or more years ago!

If you're more advanced, there is content for you as well. Articles about some of the intricate details of yoga might seem a bit complex for newbies, but if you store your magazines, after a few months going back and re-reading those articles can bring fresh information.

There are articles about youngsters doing yoga, older people doing yoga, and anything in between. There are ads for very expensive retreats in exotic locations - but also information on being mindful in a frugal manner.

I do have to say that most of the images shown are of young, 20-something sexy models, and it'd be nice to show a wider selection of people doing the poses. Still, that complaint can probably be made with just about every magazine out there.

1) Work is bearable once again - co-workers avoid tragic ending - Moved into brand spanking new office space that is so quiet you can hear every flatulence, chip crunch, carrot bite, soup slurp, (boorish) conversation, whisper or otherwise, every phone call (if I concentrate hard enough, both sides), keyboard click, mouse movement, tummy rumble, foot step (nicknamed a couple new clod hoppers), sniff, sneeze, coffee slurp, burp, soda can opening, staple punch, paper printed, knuckle cracking annoyance from every inch of the 4000 square foot expedient path to nightmarish hell ...

2) SENT FROM G-O-D HIMSELF! - THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We moved into an upstairs apartment and our downstairs neighbors have 3 barking dogs. They let the dogs out in the front patio area at about 6 am. Every time someone walks by, a bird tweets or an ant crawls these dogs go into barking hysteria. We did everything to talk to management to even bordering up our bedroom window with sheet rock!!! Yes it got that bad! And nothing worked. Two pieces of sheet rock and we heard the dogs clear as day. We had lost all hope at this point and began waiting out our year sentence until we could move. I decided to look into a noise machine to see if something could minimize the sound at least until we moved. During my research I found a bunch of machines with sound descriptions such as 'Ocean', 'Nature', 'Waterfalls' etc. I knew these 'calming' sounds would never block out the three terrorists that lived beneath us. I knew when we had the AC it on it helped somewhat (but you still heard the dogs) but since it was cold the AC was of no use. I read the reviews on this little machine and I loved the fact that is had 'various FAN sounds' and volume control. So I said what the hey lets give it a try. Let me tell you, this machine was sent from the G-O-D himself. This machine blocked out every single solitary noise. My husband and I have slept like babies. It's the best thing ever. I was so shocked the first few mornings I thought the dogs weren't outside. I thought there is no way this machine has completely blocked out these dogs. But lo and behold, one morning I got up from a great night sleep and walked in the living room and the dogs were barking at there normal level and not a peep was heard in the bedroom. This is the best investment I've made in a long time. BTW I have been purchasing items on Amazon for years, this is my first review. I felt compelled to share my new found glory with others :-)
